Privacy Code 

At Sharons Credit Union ("SCU") we understand that privacy is a critical issue for all our members. Our privacy code outlines our principles and procedures regarding the confidentiality and security of members' personal informaiton.

This code outlines the principles SCU applies when protecting members' privacy. We believe that ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of the information we hold about you is more than simply a legal requirement, it is an ethical obligation.

 

This code is based on the Personal Information Protection Act - Bill 38 (PIPA). Based on this model, we have tailored our own ten privacy principles to meet the specific needs and expectations of our membership.

Security

Sharons Credit Union will investigate and reimburse for any losses that you incur due to unauthorized Online or Mobile Banking activity. 


Your security responsibilities

You are covered by the online banking security policy provided you meet your security responsibilities in the direct services agreement and account agreement you have with us.

  • Never disclose your password to anyone
  • Use up-to-date anti-virus/anti-spyware software and a firewall
  • Don’t keep copies of your password stored anywhere you access online banking
  • Review your statements and report errors within the time period set out in your account agreement
  • Assist us in any investigation regarding your accounts
